Ground Work

This is a collective term for all activities that involve movement of soil and sand in order to realise the design. For instance, when laying a patio, this is done to a slight slope, so rainwater drains away naturally. The garden must also connect well to fixed heights in the garden (such as thresholds into the house, shed or garage). We can perform this manually or by using the right machinery.

By using wooden poles or pickets, which are placed at the correct height with the help of a laser, the groundwork can be executed properly. During the construction of a garden it is common that large quantities of sand or soil have to be supplied or removed. When the groundwork is done professionally, this will ultimately have a positive effect on the final result.
